SONAR Tip: Lock Contents

Some views (Piano Roll, Staff, Event List, Step Sequencer) allow you to have multiple instances open. For example, you can have a separate Piano Roll window for each MIDI track. After you've opened a view in the MultiDock, right-click the view's tab and choose Lock Contents. This will lock the view to the specific track and allow you to open more instances of the same view. For more information about customizing SONAR, check out chapter 2 in SONAR X2 Power! http://www.garrigus.com/

Great tip, thanks!  I'd just been toggling tracks and having to re-open the piano roll view to each track as a adjusted each.  Much less hassle!  (I ordered my book today.  The X1 book was awesome, I didn't realize until recently the X2 book has been out!)

Again, Scott, like the default plugin preset, this is something I've tried to do, but haven't been able to figure out. Thank you for these gems!

Apparently once you bring a PRV up big via shift D, the others dissapear, or am I missing something?

Nevermind, seems fine now. I must have accidently closed one...

Hey Morgan... Thanks for ordering the book! I hope you enjoy it. Yeah, it's been out since the end of March. Are you reading the DigiFreq newsletter? I always announce the book in there. If not, you can get a free subscription here: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/subscribe.asp And back issues are here: http://www.digifreq.com/digifreq/issues.asp

Hey Ben... My pleasure and glad you found it useful! All these are tips I'm pulling directly from the SONAR Power! books.

Hey J.A... Definitely a useful feature. Glad to help!

Hey Wayne... yeah, you must have found some kind of quirk. Not sure what happened there. But at least you got it working now. Glad to help!

I had to take a major hiatus from recording earlier this year -- work to make money got in the way of fun.

But I was able to get my priorities more straightened out!  Thanks for the links - I'll get back in the loop.

Yeah, I know what you mean about needing to make money. I really dislike it when making music starts to feel like work, but ya gotta pay the bills. I'm glad to hear you got things worked out and you're back in action.
