I am having a problem with Track Manager in that it does not show up when I am in Console View. I go to Strips-Track Manager-click it...nothing happens.

I can go to the Track Manager in Track View...Tracks-Track Manager...and it appears. I can remove the check in a main folder consisting of about five midi tracks and all of the tracks disappear from the Track View and the check marks are all removed from the midi tracks in the folder.

When I close Track Manager and go back to look I notice that the main folder still has no check but all of the midi tracks somehow are checked again. Even though they don't show up in Track View (this is what I want).

I also see that they still appear in Console View and the point of what I am trying to do is to remove them from the Console view and Track view without deleting. I saw there was a hide...what is the difference between the Hide and the Track Manager?

Is this working normally? It sucks if it is. Is something not checked in my settings?

Why does the Track Manager option in Console view not work?

Hope I explained this good enough and someone can point me in the right direction.

In Cakewalk's effort to make everything take ever more clicks they have made the Track Manager so that you have to click on a console track EVERY TIME YOU OPEN the Track Manager or it will not work properly.

I spoke to Cakewalk Support.

This is an issue that not many have reported but it is still an issue for me but now with a work-around.It will not work the way it is supposed to because of the version of Sonar that the song was created in.

...here is the results of the conversation.

Problem/Questions: Unable to launch the Track Manager from within the Console View from either the [H] hotkey or the Strips | Track Manager menu. This dialog opens properly from the Track View.

Solutions: This issue only occurs in projects created in SONAR 8.5 or before; the Track Manager dialog opens as expected in projects created in SONAR X1. As a workaround, you can easily hide your tracks by selecting them in the Console View and pressing CTRL + H.

This workaround does not work.  I select them in Console view and do Ctrl-H and they get hidden in the TRACK VEW.

Yes I have opened the song in X1 and done more work on it. Therefore I have saved it in X1. It is an issue because it was originally created in 8.5 according to tech support.

If you have checked the option "Keep track/console visibility states in sync" under the Track Manager it will remove them in both Track and Console view.

Yes but I need the track and console views to have different tracks showing.

I think you'll find that's what he means. Uncheck the "Keep track/console visibility states in sync" option and then you can have different tracks showing in both. That's how it works here.
