  • Fat Fingering sometimes Messes Everything Up

So as a long (long) time Cakewalk user, I'm finally starting to get used to the Sonar X type interface.  "Getting used to" because old shortcuts and keystrokes that are permanently burned into my head had to be reprogrammed into the interface or somehow forgotten.  That's fine.  But what still gets me sometimes, is fat fingering a key and not knowing what just happened.  For example, I just hit "e" instead of "r" to record.  Now all my volumes are cut in half, or so it seems.  Searching "keyboard shortcuts" for an "e" is not easy as "e's" are in many things.  Plus it didn't turn up anything useful:-)

Doesn't that disable all FX? Would account for the loss of gain.

I can relate.

I've had that happen a number of times. Accidentally hitting the wrong key, or just dropping a pen or something on the keyboard - then something changes, with no clear path to reverse whatever it is.
It would be nice to have a default button for these things like we have 'Control Z' to undo the intentional decisions in the DAW.

Otherwise it requires knowing virtually any & all the keyboard short cuts from the start, [not all of which are always easy to find], which of course takes time to to learn.

For me I have 3 DAWs now, with somewhat different short cut keys.

Very frustrating for sure.

I was gonna mention that - a cat jumping on the keyboard in my post, except I don't have one - so I left it out.  Hahaha

Glad it's just not m#%e.  Oops, all my open windows just closed.

Is there a shortcut list in addition to the help menu? Could they all just be disabled?
