I like it, especially the insane tripled? guitars with the weirdo intervals!

the drums are pretty epic and right on for the genre.

Comparing the sections that play with the bass (very full bass) and those that play without, I think I enjoyed the bass-less sections a bit more. Maybe you've got too much low thickness going on with your bass sound? It kind of smothers the other parts. I could also imagine I heard some bad-cord noise floor at around 2:50? Is that maybe the bass player's cord?

I think it absolutely rocks, I could hear the Pink Floyd in it, but I think the mix might be a little bass-heavy.

Did you do this all yourself, or have other players in? Either way, pretty high level playing.

cheers,
-Tom

Thanks a lot Tom. I reslly appreciate it. That 2:50 mark was intentional to setup the crazy 7/8 part right after. I did record all of this by myself. My student wrote a couple of the riffs and then went from there. I felt the bass was a tad bit loud and I think I will adjust that. Im glad you enjoyed it. Thanks again.

You have captured the prototypical heavy metal sound.  This would be a good piece for background music in a film, or add a vocalist, and you've got a metal gem.

Thanks Lynn. I appreciate it. One of these days someone may actaully sing on my instrumentals.

Oh yeah, I'm liking this!   A bit Dream Theatre-ish here and there, which IMO is a good thing.

Guitars are wide, nice and crunchy but still defined.  Love the melodic tones and harmonies too.    I also like that the "breakdown" sections narrow the stereo field - nice effect.

Thanks a lot Steve.  Dream Theater is my #1 influence so I'm glad its got a little vibe to it.

Yes, this was quite a gem for sure. A lot of things happening and right up my alley for epic sound. Very nicely done for sure. Keep up the great work.

Peace and Blessings, John

Very cool. Like prog-metal. I could definitely hear the Dream Theater influence. Everything sounded pretty tight, which isn't easy when you're ripping those triplets. I liked it a lot. Nice job!

Wow everyone, thanks again.  I really do appreciate all of the feedback.  I just want to produce the best I can and put out the best quality.  Thanks again.
