My brother is apparently planning to sit it out in Jupiter, FL. I do not expect to hear from him for a while.

yea, when i got pummeled by hurricane hugo in charleston, sc, back in '89, i lost my car, i had no water for 2 weeks, and no power for 6 weeks.

it was ruff.

of course, that was a direct hit..
remains to be seen what happens here.

when it gets windy here in SL.UT, especially in the winter, and we get canyon winds, it'll do 70 mph no problem.

I'm in Inverness (west coast).  We are only predicted to get a little rain and wind from far outer bands.  If its true we are in good shape compared to our friends on the east side of Florida.

So far, not very much.  Maybe a half inch of rain at the most and almost no wind.  More rain and wind close by, thought.  Our band's lead guitar player lives in Sumter Co (next county east of me) was getting some heavy rain and some wind.

Fighting water with water? It's always fascinated me when a hurricane or tsunami comes a-threatenin', the locals rush out and stock up on all the water they can find when in just a matter of hours they'll be inundated with more water than they could ever hope to buy.
