You could put the tremolo effect on a send, then automate when the track is effected. You can draw this in or "ride the faders." There are other ways the track signal can trigger effects, depending on the plug-in(s). Side-chaining might be an option, too.
Thank you for your input! I do like that idea very much, especially "riding faders" sounds like exactly what I want to do. Also what @ stated, expanding the original source seems like what I want to do.
Sadly, I am just only a live player and I do lack the skills for doing such great things.
For now, I dug out an old laptop which had a former Sonar version incl. V-Vocal installed and applied some tremolo by that. Context: soundcloud.com/michajp/eagle-16dec17
but it's far away from my formerly stated goal.
@'s approach with side-chaining sounds very interesting but I have no clue about how to accomplish that.
By the way, IF there are ways outside of Sonar, I'd happily try them out.
Having Studio One, Magix, Audacity, Samplitude, Harrison etc. installed (without knowing all their details), I find it strange if none of these products can be used to do such a simple thing.
