I've recorded some artificial flute track, the flute has some vibrato and tremolo at its longer phrases. But: it's not enough tremolo. I'd like to change the tremolo so that the quieter parts become more quiet, maybe even near 0 sound.
 
If you imagine the amplitude as a sine wave, I want to pull the lower curves more down but without changing anything else.
I could not yet figure out how to accomplish that. The closest approach coming to mind would be adding such dynamics via
V-Vocal but sadly that's not showing up in my installed SPlat.
 
Any hint in the right direction would be much appreciated. Thank you very much in advance.

To get V-Vocal installed in Platinum requires a minimal install of a previous version of SONAR. See http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3611717. Keep in mind V-Vocal is pretty old and has been reported to have trouble with some Win10 installs.

An external tremolo plugin is what I had tried already a bit and it is indeed better than nothing. However, that would result in _additional_ tremolo besides the one already in the recording. Thus the added tremolo speed is hard to match absolutely to that of the source.
 
What I try to do is more like the pitch tool in Melodyne, but with tremolo. Adding _more_ tremolo but triggered by the already existing signal.
Anyways, thanks again for the replies, I will work my way through these posts asap.

It seems there are a few ways to go.
 
You could put the tremolo effect on a send, then automate when the track is effected. You can draw this in or "ride the faders." There are other ways the track signal can trigger effects, depending on the plug-in(s). Side-chaining might be an option, too.

An expander (a kind of compressor in reverse which makes quiet parts quieter) might do the job.

Thank you for your input! I do like that idea very much, especially "riding faders" sounds like exactly what I want to do. Also what @ stated, expanding the original source seems like what I want to do.
Sadly, I am just only a live player and I do lack the skills for doing such great things.
 
For now, I dug out an old laptop which had a former Sonar version incl. V-Vocal installed and applied some tremolo by that. Context:   soundcloud.com/michajp/eagle-16dec17

Having Studio One, Magix, Audacity, Samplitude, Harrison etc. installed (without knowing all their details), I find it strange if none of these products can be used to do such a simple thing.

It shouldn't be too difficult. It's just a shorthand way of describing using a fader, knob, or control on a MIDI controller or control surface to write your automation. This can be done live or offline.

Here it depends whether the plug-in you use has a sidechain input or not. It's more common with compressors, but other plug-ins sometimes have sidechain inputs, as well.
