I saw a video from Mr. Children over at Puremix and he says that audio interfaces, AI, have their sweet spot. I would think that the auto sens would set it there. That's why I've been doing. You also have to take into consideration gain staging. What might seem low in the track will be louder in the busses.
You really have to experiment though.
