I'm not seeing any waveform in the take lanes. I see a waveform when recording, but it disappears after recording stops. The take  lanes show (busy) for a while but no data/waveform is displayed. I can hear the track take, but can't see it. Kind of makes editiing hard....
 
I can open it in the loop editor and see it, but nothing I do will make it display in the take lane. I've tried emptying out the picture cache.

  Resolved with the assistance of cakewalk support, by doing a complete removal of X2, deleting a number of registry entries, then reinstall with Norton disabled.
 
 
 

Try deleting your pic cache or making the cache bigger so it stores more

Not helpful at all.  Also, there are troubleshooting tips in the manual that do nothing to fix this.

The only other thing it could be is this, as there is no bug for this issue and we all have the same program. So if it was a bug, we would all see it or at least most of us

Are you actually recording or do you have wave preview enabled?

Some more symptoms.....
When I drag and drop take lanes, the waveform is visible while dragging but disappears when dropped/released. I've tried changing foreground and background colours of the take or track but all I see is blank swath of colour where the waveform should be in the track view. Anyway, it should work with the defaults. The waveform is also visible if I open it in the loop view.

Axiology, can you please give me your solution, because I have exactly the same problems with X2 and X1, but not with 8.5.1?
