• SONAR
  • X2 producer - multidock gone

After working on a new project for about a week, I started having issues (pops and such) after adding a 5th instance of Dimension Pro. I removed it (and the associated track) and things appeared to be OK. So I saved and closed. But when I went back in, Sonar was hanging on opening the project (only that one). I ended up opening it in safe mode (manually accepting each plugin) and saving it as a new file name.

Now, I can open it with no problem, but the Multidock is gone. Actually, it says multidock on a horizontal bar, across the bottom above the transport controls, but the chevron button control to undock it (I usually have it in a separate monitor) doesn't do anything. If I try to hit D or Shift+D, it does absolutely nothing, other than momentarily blip the screen.

The file seems to be fine (plays back fine), I just can't get the multidock open. I can open other projects and their multidock opens just fine. Any idea on how to get it back?

In the top left under view, try selecting console view. If it still doesn't show then, click on the arrows again. Sorry if this is sketchy, someone will prob have a better idea.

You are describing an empty multidock. See if you can dock something to it.

Holy Baloney - thanks! That worked.

Did you have anything in Multidock before you first saved and closed after removing your 5th DimPro?
Opening in safe mode certainly resets screensets and may cancel Multidock dockings too... can anyone confirm that or add to the list of "changes" that open in safe mode perpetrates ?
Docking any plugin in (an empty) Multidock will "activate" the Multidock.

I generally only keep the mix console and notation editor in the multidock. I'll occasionally put the tempo or meter/key change map in there, but that's really it. From what I can recall, I don't think I had anything else in there at the time. It's really weird that it started doing that on that single plugin. I wasn't using a lot of ram or cpu or anything - just seemed odd.
