Since you didn't post your system specs (pls do so, this will help), I assume you are using Miroslav (32bit) with 64bit Sonar.

If this is the case you are asking for trouble. jBridge does help to get this more stable but doesn't fully cure the problem. I had random crashes when using SampleTron; freezing didn't work at all; more than one synth instance randomly crashed Sonar. With jBridge I can do most of the things I couldn't before (cheap 95% solution) ...

IK soft synths (sample tank, sample tron, sample moog + Miroslav) are as far as I know still only available as 32 bit versions ... which is part of the reason why I don't use them a lot anymore

Thanks for the reply, it was my first ever post, and your guess on my gear was correct.
I have been playing the track and recording to another computer, then importing the audio back.
perhaps I should have bought Garritan P O instead.

Don't waste your money. I highly recommend Symphonic Orchestra Gold by EastWest, or some of the Vienna stuff (ie; Dimension Strings). Didn't Sonar come with Garritan PO? I seem to recall it was a terrible library.

Hi Mike,

The problem is that any 32Bit plugin has to be bridged to work in a 64Bit host.  Some plugins cope well with being bridged, others don't.
The IK soft-synths (32Bit) are known to have issues with Sonar's Bit-Bridge... but there are a couple work-arounds:
  • You can install/use the 32Bit version of Sonar... then freeze the results and open the project in the 64Bit version of Sonar to continue.
  • You can pickup jBridge (3rd party bridging application - ~$22)

FWIW, my work around is to bounce to tracks then mute, archive then hide the midi and synth tracks. If I need to make changes I would the delete the audio track, use the track manager to bring back the hidden tracks and unmute etc those tracks.

I hope this helps and good luck.

IK multimedia said a 64bit sampletank version 3 will be out end of this year. It will play the old Miroslav, sampletank 2.5 and the rest. I just got all 5 of them all in the group buy. I will wait and see.
