I already asked about it and was refered to some online sources that I was not able to make work for me. I need simple MP3 encoder that would convert .wav to .mp3 at different bit resolution (meaning, 128, 192, 256,  and so on). I was ready to unlock Cake's encoder, I know it used to be $20, but I was not able to find it on the web site, and not know if it encodes in different bit depth or just 128. I was refered before to some source code- I was not able to make it work. I need something that I can buy and that works with no issues, making good MPs quality. I don't get it: Audio Creator LE has MP3 encoder, but Sonar 2X does not? Thank you for your replies. Lame was already advised to me and it never worked. Audacity came without lame- just a skin. I spent hours trying to make it work, I am not doing it again. But thanks, I will look in to other suggestions.

Wrues, thanks for the link, but it has 3 download buttons. I am sorry- I am slow- which one is the right one? Also I am on Win. 8, wondering if it would work- trying to avoid any drama. Thanks.

Scook, I am looking at Cake encoder link you posted (thanks). It says, Purchase of this product is not required to convert your files to MP3.  This software integrated encoder is intended to improve file export workflow.
What does it mean?

Confusing isn't it. What they are trying to tell you is that you do not have to buy their encoder if you want to create mp3 files, there is always LAME. But if you want to unlock the integrated mp3 encoder (and you do), this is what you want.

What is CWAF Tool (under the Utilities). And what is "External Encoder Configuration Utility"? It looks like MP3 encoder but I got confused again. Thanks.
