I'm cleaning up tracks by deleting all the unused clips in a track (with multiple take lanes).  In doing so, the associated automation envelope for that part of the track (e.g., Mute) disappears.
 
Is there a setting I can change so that the automation envelope stays intact while I delete clips in that portion of the track?

Edit > Delete Special.
 
Uncheck Track/Bus Automation

Track/Bus Automation wasn't checked, but nothing was.  I tried checking and unchecking it to no avail.  But if I check Delete Events in Track, it works, leaving the automation envelope alone.
