Hi there,

I've been using Dimension Pro on/off for the last 8 years. I'm currently very much 'on' as am producing tracks for a show.

One of the big issues I have is locating suitable sounds quickly. So, I have two questions:

1) Is there some form of document that lists all the sounds on Dimension Pro?

2) I'm currently trying to find some decent finger snaps to use (like the one's used in Justin Timberlake's Can't Stop The Feeling). Does anyone know whereabouts in Dimension Pro I may find these?

I realise it's pretty dated software but it's all I have right now so any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

If you have Rapture Session, it is possible to search DPro programs in it. Before Rapture Pro/Session I would use Windows Explorer to search the DPro and Rapture program folders. That said, I do not believe you are going to find the sound you are asking about in DPro.

I would suggest that you (and anyone else you can find) record your own finger snapping into the best microphone you have available (even a smartphone will do). Try layering different people's snaps. You might be surprised with the results. ;)

Good idea. If you want to save some time, here's a free sample set of claps and snaps.

Tech details:

All samples have been normalized to -0.1 dB and carefully trimmed to avoid any pops or clicks. My advice is to use several similar clap or snap samples in a round robin fashion in order to achieve more natural results. You can also make some great sounding fat claps if you layer several different clap samples and trigger them at the same time.

The samples are provided in stereo 24-bit WAV format with 44.1 kHz sampling rate. The library contains 158 individual samples. You’ll find 96 clap samples and 62 finger snaps. SFZ and Kontakt 5 mappings included. After unpacking, the library will occupy 19.6 MB of space on your hard drive.
