I like version 2 better. One suggestion I have would be to layer a rounder sounding bass sound with your current bass. Something with a slower attack and slightly longer release. I think that will make the bass sound less punchy and give the song a little weight. Also, a little panned delay on the lead line wouldn't hurt.

Dan

This is cool.  I can hear it as a sound track or something.  I can't add any words of wisdom.  It works, nothing stands out as bad or annoying.  Good job. :)

Thanks for listening Janet. Appreciated

I agree, perhaps a different preset altogether may be the way forward, or I could simply edit the Absynth 4 patch I'm currently using.

I currently run the lead through my effects bus which has a Breverb 2 "Cathedral" verb. But yeah, I guess a panned delay would give the lead more width, for sure. I've just tried an instance of FabFilter Timeless 2 on the lead's effects bin and there are a few presets that fit quite well.

To everyone that has listened thus far, many thanks yet again. For a simple MIDI tune, by a complete "hobbyist," I got more feedback than I expected, so, yeah, thanks

I liked it..   it was "happy" but certainly not boring!   The lead synth carries it nicely.

Hi Andy, This sounds pretty good for what you were working toward thus far. A tweak here and there depends on what you are looking for as a final proof work. It does hold your attention all the way through and has its' own kind of electronica sound. I'm thinking job well done!! Thanks for sharing.

Peace and Blessings, John

It's a bit repetitious in the first half before the lead synth comes in.

First half could use a melody of some sort or simply shortened. JMO.

Thanks for taking the time to listen

I think it would be safe to say that most, if not all of my "music" is repetitious. That's purely down to my lack of skills and nothing to do with the genre I attempt to emulate

cheers
