Seems impossible but with how algorithms are progressing Id think a software company could figure out how to do it
or software that rips the song apart into tracks like melodyne does with notes
Hope I am explaining this right lol
Anyone have any suggestions on software that does this
Free or paid
Anything useful
Thank you :)

If you're talking about separating instruments from a mixed down WAV or MP3 - no chance. That would be like separating the yellow and blue from green paint.

I think there are programs that will remove the lead vocal from a mixed song to make a karaoke track, but AFAIK that's about the limitation at the moment. Happy to be corrected if someone knows better.

I use RiffStation to remove vocals. its definitely one of the best out there.
Allows slow down and tuning changes as well.

Boy are people just getting so lazy they think you can push a button and your work is done! Computers are amazing but how on earth would that even be remotely possible! Do you understand what an audio file is?
Do you think there's a little band in there playing live? That's just about as far fetched.
Yes you can remove vocals, sometimes.

If what your after is a backing track for playing live or making your own recordings, then you have many choices and most either involve spending money or spending time. No magic "free" button to creating backing tracks.

Best shot is there are some free midi files for most popular songs but that is limited and many are not that good.

Google your song title midi file. Be aware of many Phishing sites as you go. Midi files should download fast and direct without jumping through any hoops or installing software.

I guess swearing isn't aloud here "Cactus Music" because the forum ate my last 2 messages to you

Now that I'm not as angry anymore! I'm in a band and we have a bunch of old music and we dont have the originals anymore "stems" We are a bit progressive and would be easier for us to use software as a memory jogger to relearn the instruments

OK sorry, you can sort of see where I was coming from being your an actual musician. I thought it was yet another post by someone ( a none musician)  hoping to magically convert a stereo wave file into all it's original multi track parts.
There is a way to export "stems" from sonar projects. It's in the export dialog where you can export a song as each track to it's own wave file.

I accept your apology Thank you. I know how to export stems lol We have our songs compressed to wav & mp3 but cleaned our computer to do a fresh rebuilt and no longer have the stems.
