I'm trying to use a tablet I bought (Galaxy tab2) to control Sonar X2 using TouchDaw.
I've tried before with my cell phone and X1 and it worked nice and setup was easy.

Now with this tablet I followed instructions about how to get TouchDaw work using rtpMIDI and apple's bonjour.
The MIDI part of touchdaw (Pads and Piano) work ok, but the controller part (DAW) gets the "NO RESPONSE FROM DAW" error.
I went through all posts in Touchdaw site and on other places and couldn't find a solution.

But I realized that on the same system, same WiFi conection, I can control Sonar X1 with this tablet&TouchDaw no problem, just standard setup and X1 it's working, but still no response when trying with X2...

So it seems to be an specific X2 setting thing. On Preferences everything looks identical (bet. X1 and X2)

Anybody there using TouchDaw with X2 ????

Any help appreciated,
Thanks

I can vouch that TouchDAW is working on X2 with with the Galaxy III smartphone. No more than that though. I think it helps to have TouchDAW open and running before starting up Sonar.

Have you guys did something particular on setup? Or setting Mackie Controler's session? Or it just works with Touch Daw's standard setup with rtpMIDI, etc?
I tried any opening sequence, sonar first, touchdaw first, etc. As metioned, X1 just works in a snap; but after 4 days trying I'm giving up on X2...
THANKS!!

OK here's my rundown:

TouchDaw - Nothing special except selection of Sonar as DAW.

rtPMidi - both in and out connected and session enabled.

Sonar - Edit->Preferences->Control Surfaces - Mackie Control-1, both in and out ports assigned. (could this be it?)

hi Super G, thanks for you take, but I did it exactly like that and as said, while X1 responds alright, X2 wont communicate. Humatic (touchdaw develop) confirmed that normally both X1 and X2 must work with same settings, si there's something in my X2 taht's no good. I can see a clean un-install here...
is good to learn that it works for you guys (on X2) as it does for me in X1. It should be easy, I think I'll re install X2 from scratch.
Thanks

I have the galaxy tab 2 and I've been meaning to try touch Daw out.   If I get around to it, I'll let you know how it went.

I am using a Samsung Galaxy 8.  When I initially setup the connection through rtpMIDI, although everything seemed ok, Sonar would not talk to the Samsung.  Eventually, I entered the IP:Port manually and then everything worked perfectly.

Hope that helps,
Bill

HI thanks for your suggestions.
After thinking about this for some time, I decided that it must be a programm error, since X1 was working right on with touchdaw (all-default settings) both on tablet and phone.
Eventually I tried to clean un-install X2, and re-install.
It worked, Touch Daw controls both X1 and X2 with no particular tweaking.
Cheers

I don't believe an x2 re-install was necessary, but glad its working..

if this occurs again, here is my note from an older thread in the dungeons..

Go to C:Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\Sonar X2 Producer folder with Windows Explorer and delete (or rename if you're the cautious type) ctrlsurface.dat and ttseq.ini.

this deletes all record of the control surface connections (deleting from within sonar does not) and allows a fresh start.. this problem occurred for me a couple of times using ac-7 and touchdaw on x1
