So, I have this bass drum- just a glorified metronome, really- in a recent project. I've exported it as an MP3. Everything else plays 100% perfectly. The drum, though- it'll do this thing, where it will play, say, 6 beats just fine... and then just go silent for two beats. Then, it comes back in for another couple beats. Rinse repeat.
 
I've asked tech support about this; they haven't really helped. So I'm asking the community. Any ideas?

Is the rest of the project MIDI or audio?
The most common cause of randomly skipped MIDI-notes is too low
buffer size in "MIDI buffers..prepare using xx ms buffers" (or something like that). Doubling the
buffers size usually helps.

I jacked up my MIDI buffers to the max of 128, but the problem still remains.

Maybe something's getting truncated during the mixdown / export process. 
 
Are you exporting directly to MP3?  If so, raise the buffers in your audio card (I assume you're using ASIO?) - try something at least 2400. 
 
Also ensure your MP3 export settings include variable bit rate and move the slider to the left for 'better quality' (assuming you're using the embedded Cakewalk MP3 encoder.

btw.. if the problem persists after making the above change, please include your systems specs in your response to aid in further troubleshooting (hardware / software, what audio card, drive mode, current buffer settings, etc)
 

Have you tried bouncing down in real-time?

I am not sure what buffer value this is but it was not the one mentioned in this thread

The value mentioned here is located in Preferences > MIDI > Playback and Recording and is in the Playback section. It is called "Prepare using nnn Millisecond Buffers." The default value is 250, usually changing the to 500 or 750 helps missing note issues.
 
It could also be that the synth does not like fast bounce but before making the conclusion I would
1) restore whatever value was maxed out to 128 and
2) increase the MIDI playback buffer value to 500
If that does not work, try disabling fast bounce. If that does not work, I would try freezing the synth before export.

The fast bounce worked!
