I'd like a varispeed like function too, if that's what you mean. 

Varispeed works on audio too, doesn't it ?
 
I'd be happy with it working just with midi, though audio would be nice too.  It's strange to adjust the tempo value during playback (of midi stuff) and nothing changes until you stop and restart.

Haha, still not too late, because even now Cakewalk have still not announced any news that what would they plan for X2b or X3. So they still have enough time to think about our wishlist requests by now.

You may not be aware of this but CW has never, to my recollection, ever announced what they had planned for ANY release. You find out what they had planned when it is released. Never before.

And X3 must be in the final stages of Beta at the moment.  It'll be released very soon, so save your energy guys.
