Agreed. Being in the UK I didn't know her radio programme until I heard her with Walter Becker and Donald Fagen (Steely Dan). Excellent. I have it on my ipod permanently.

I've enjoyed listening to her radio show. She was a great jazz pianist and musical educator.

Marian had the longest running show on NPR.  She in effect built that network.  RIP

The Maillard Reaction
Over the years I have found it difficult to keep track of the schedule of her shows in my local radio market, but each time I got a chance to listen I felt like it was a special event.
 
I can not begin to describe how much I have learned from the conversations she had with her guests. The musical examples they performed as illustrations of the stories being told made each show a treasure trove of inspiration.
 
I feel her legacy will be as impactful as any artist that has shared their music with us.
