Once again, thanks everyone.  Based on your comments, I'm leaning toward a self guided course of study and putting the money into more equipment.  After all, isn't "more equipment" what we all crave anyway.  If however I do decide to enter the Berklee program, I'll report back with my impressions.  Good music making to you all.

I would recommend both Groove3 and MacProVideo web sites, FastBikerBoy's SWA series (available IIRC from the Cakewalk store), and Cakewalk U for well produced and informative videos. In addition to Sonar specific tutorials Groove3 has some really excellent stuff on producing in general. They may not have the cache that the Berklee stuff does but are a really cost effective way to start learning.

Saving our pennies for the book. I often have to beat my 14 year old with a tire iron to get my X1 book from him. Your books have been a great resource for us.
