.... Problem with PS is that you have to buy the expensive professional version to get 64-bit processing, which is not in the sale.
...

This is misleading.  The 64 bit you are referring to has to do with the internal audio engine.  Many users (including me) don't give a flip about the double-precision internal processing -- in fact, I have it turned off in Sonar.
The 64-bit ability that most folks are concerned about has to do with allowing access to large amounts of ram.  AFAIK, all versions of Studio One have this capability.

Have you turned it off because enabling it not only gives you absolutely no advantages but also gives you some disadvantage?
I'm ignorant about this so I'm just wondering if I should also turn it off.

I like the look and feel of MC6, so I'll probably like X2 as well. I can only go for Essentials at this time as I don't think I need all the other stuff for primarily voice-over work, but having loops and other rack-type modules would be useful for development.

I wonder what the Apple/Pro Tools guy thought of  x2 it after listening to demos mentioned in an above post. That bit wasn't mentioned. It'd be good to see that they converted to Sonar.

Ill toss in my 2peso worth.

I think we will get something like similar to what cake did when x1 expanded was released.

IIRC users of x1 got a patch at about the same time as the expanded product came out. The patch fixed several things for users that did not upgrade and the users that did upgrade got those fixes and additional fixes to the pro channel.

Welcome, leebut, I hope you have as good and creative a time with Sonar as I do.  It is a fantastic piece of software.

Would I no longer be welcome?

Hi Beep - I always enjoy reading your posts. You are normally someone who can be counted on as a voice of reason when things start to slip off the rails. So - I hope you'll stick around personally. In my opinion, the fact that you are a SONAR owner, whether it is your main daw or not should give you an automatic key to the front door - and the right to make yourself at home and stay as long as you like.
