I've always used Chrome and it always worked, but it's more than a button thing; the last replies you read have to be stored somewhere (in a cookie) so that could be what wasn't happening.  I just had some bizarre behavior this morning and a reboot, maybe that will fix this issue too - time will tell!

A new album, eh?  I've got Conjure and their self-titled effort.  Looks like I'll have to add that to my "to get" list!

Man, I'm REALLY finding out just how much I was using that "Go to first unread post since last visit" button! 
 
 

What's really annoying is when it does go to the first unread post but won't let you go anywhere else unless you click the Go To Top arrow and start over.

Whoa!  I believe you just described my life... 

I have issues with the forum software whereby it will simply "hang", maybe up to a minute or so when trying to refresh, post, click the back arrow, select different forums, everything.
 
This is on Win 7, Win 10, Chrome, Edge, Firefox.

Schtill working Eggshellint* for me.

MAN this is getting even more annoying!  Now some threads are showing three pages back.  I never had any problems with this before!
