Hi all,
Very strange - an audio clip recorded the previous day was missing.  I'm confident it was there, because I edited it. I'm confident I saved it several times (I habitually click save after each change when editing / mixing). I'm confident I didn't delete the clip accidentally, because the last thing I did before closing out of Sonar was listen to the clilp and ensure I was happy with it.  Fortunately I was able to locate the .wav file and import it back into the track.  So no harm done.

So I'm trying to convince myself that I must've made several mistakes somehow: deleted the clip after listening to it the final time, closed out of Sonar and not seen the warning message pop up indicating changes were made, etc.. but I'm struggling to rationalize how I could have made 2-3 mistakes in a row like that.  Has anybody else had this wacky behavior?  Or am I just going insane?

Thanks
Russ

I've had clips vanish before, but it was always after deleting a different track or clip and I had inadvertently selected more than one clip. I've also accidentally locked and muted multiple clips that way. If you can't see all the tracks on the screen, which is usually the case, then it's easy to have tracks or clips selected that you're not aware of. It hasn't happened to me in a long time, because I'm now very careful to select just one track/clip at a time by selecting, de-selecting and then re-selecting it.

What I do now because of this happening is I will pull my last track into view before hitting delete. If it is track 17 then I delete and make dang sure the last track say's 16 now, and not 14. But the audio files should still be in the audio folder. Midi, are gone for good once you save.
