this is the second version of X (X1 and X2 now) that hasnt shipped with a usable color scheme like 8.xx did. that had tons of presets.

and to top it off, i cant seem to change the audio tracks background to something similar, like white. (all that is available to change in the foreground). maybe im missing something here.
i also tried to export my color scheme (xxxxxxx.clr) from X1 and use it in X2, but havent quite figured that out. any ideas?

IF you want to change the background the new settings are called...

View Background (odd)
View Background (even)

hmmm. i'm not sure what this means?

((i just want to turn audio clips background to white so that the audio is whichever color but the background is always white))

I don't think you can turn just the audio clips background white globally or just the midi clips background white globally in color preferences. You can only change all clips on tracks ending in 1, 2, 3, etc., to white in preferences, but it will make the background white whether they are audio or midi clips on those tracks. Go to color category Clips and select all of the Tracks...Background entries and change the color to white.

I just verified that this is different in X1 vs X2.
In X1 you can tell the audio clips background to be white, numbers at a time, without changing the midi tracks background color.

Yes the backgrounds of MIDI and Audio clips are now tied together within Preferences/Colors options. However, you can override this via the Inspector either on a per clip basis or for the entire track. You can also smart group tracks and change the backgrounds for the entire group to the same color in one shot.
