Bump due too many Bakers hanging around - wondering if they have any thoughts!!

Hey Stone House Studios, I think this may be related to the latest drivers that Avid has released for this device.  Can you try uninstalling the current drivers you have and install the ones before these?  Let's see if this resolves the issues that you have are having.

Thanks Dan - I'll give it a shot. I'm a little reluctant since I just got everything re-installed! I couldn't get the driver re-installed until i pulled off a bunch of stuff!

I used the Audiophile USB with Cakewalk until a few years back when I upgraded to a Pro Saffire 40 to get more live channels (also rack mount to get some crap off my desk...I'm all in racks now). I still have it and use it with a laptop and Audacity for live recordings when I want a little more control and transparency than my TASCAM DR-7. Drivers on WIN7 are rock solid. You can still get these used...I think they are the high point of M-Audio products. Also had an AXIOM that consumed inordinate time to set up for the simplest functions. The only controller (other than keyboard) that I use at this point is the Frontier Tranzport...just the right amount of controller...also works well, way better than the Dakota I had long ago (and far away).

I've owned M-Audio's Delta 1010 and Audiophile 192 and had problems with both.  Updating drivers never helped.  Got my RME Fireface 800 and it's been smooth sailing ever since.

I have a Fastrack Ultra 8R.  No problems with it in either Win 7 64 bit OS or Win 8 64 bit OS.  It is my backup recording device for Sonar (and the only recording device for ProToolsMP9),  I've used it several times for recording and playback in Sonar and its latency is equal to my Octa-Capture.

I am a M-audio audiophile PCI 2496 soundcard user with Sonar X2 PE with windows 7. No problem here. Has been using that since Sonar 8.5. I have heard that M-audio has been very slow in updating their driver. So it is important that before you purchase any hardware you must make sure that the proper driver for your operating system is available for download from their website.

One minor annoyance was that the use of a particular software (I forget which one) tends to make the m-audio driver's control panel disappear. It was latter resolved by visiting M-audio's support website and they mention something about going through MSconfig setting. I had never experience that again when and updated driver was installed.

Other than that I am very have happy with my M-audio soundcard. It's advantage is that it is very stable, quiet, and fast. It's speed and low latency (128ms) allows me to enjoy playing softsynths with ease. That is my experience. My other interface is Cakewalk's UA25EX.

Musichoo...  if you can possibly remember what it is you did that fixed your problem... I REALLY need to know because the greyed out area is the part that will NOT allow me to shut off input monitoring on the Maudio interface.  Ergo... I get the damned bleed through.   Heck, if anyone else knows the workaround I would be very grateful!

Sorry, I probably wasn't clear enough on my description.  I CAN access the maudio control panel, but its different than the one that used to be there in that... when I used to get bleed through onto other tracks I could go into the old panel, uncheck the input monitoring option (which is not an option on the new panel), and that would solve the problem.
How do I shut off the input monitoring on the new Maudio GUI for my 2496?

I have a Fast Track Ultra. I updated the drivers tried to do some tricks that was suggested here on the forum, however, periodically it would blue screen my computer. Got tired of it and got a Roland Octacapture.  That was a good 5 months back.

Now there is mention of a new driver for it.. Maybe that will correct the blue screens I kept getting.

Have you downloaded the latest 64bit driver from Avid? The only thing I can't control are the latency settings within Sonar's options. However, Sonar sems to choose the best latency setting and it always works fine.
