Ah what the heck, everyone has had a shot at comparisons, so I'll say ZZ Top meets Huey Lewis . Enjoyed the song Lynn, but can't comment on the mix 'cos I have an ear infection. Excuses...

Can definitely hear improvements in the mix. The bass and kick cuts through a bit better. The snare and sticks are a bit busy and robotic, and then the beat holds-back the flow - agree with Tony's suggestion, straight ahead 4/4 driving kick will make those parts flow much better. When the snare comes in for the big change, it will lift the soundscape to higher level, more impact and dynamic.

Really creative Lynn. Lots of good fun playing in this. I like the originality.
On critical listen on the mix, I think it is missing some dynamic range and frequency range. For example, the bass is shy in the 50-80db range. He mids are very strong. Was this a headphone mix? If not, I would compare to popular songs and see how you match up.
It doesn't matter since this is not a commercial release but we all try to give our constructive feedback to help if we can right?
I love the attitude the most on this song.  Good job.

Just heard the new mix - it keeps getting better! Got it cranked on the P11's right now and singing along. Makes me feel like throwing on some ZZ Top now...

Cool tune !  I listened to both versions and you definitely improved it. I agree with Rimshot that some dynamic range would really bring it up a level ! Really fun to listen to!

I'll bet you love your new toys.  All sounds good but on the really low notes the bass at first sounded strange and then I got into it.  Dude, that's a different song!  We are about to post a "different " song too.  I hope ours comes out as good as yours.  I think your song will take a few listens till i appreciate all of it.  That is usually a good thing because I couldn't absorb it all at once.  That could be age.  Ha!!   long story short, I really like it.

Lynn, that is just a trip - love it - very imaginative - new guitar sounds great. I love my Paul Reed Smith.

You know when you listen to this song and "Devils in my House" and the next song, "Flying..." you really got a cool sound going. They flow nicely. Well done!

Hello, again, everyone.  Last week as I was getting ready to work on this song, my E drive died, which is where I store my songs.  So, I had to install a new drive and do a restore operation, and that was successful.  Unfortunately, during the process, I inadvertently bent some of those tiny pins on the data cable, so I had to take the computer into the shop to replace the cable.  I just got it back today, so I'm behind on my work and responses to you all.  I found out that my Samsung tablet won't let me post on this site, therefor, I'm late to respond to all of your wonderful posts.

John, thanks for the kind words, and I hope you are doing well.

Venus (Dena), I am enjoying Platinum and the guitar immensely.

Tony, I like your idea of the bass drum playing quarter notes on the verse, and I'll give it a try on the next pass.  The bass drum and guitar are still fighting for space, and that will be my main focus.  BTW, I normally go for a standard Fender bass sound, but this time I tried to get fancy and get some real bottom it the part.  I'll pay attention to the vocal, as well.  Thanks for your contribution.

James, sorry about the ear infection, but thanks for the comparison to ZZ Top and Huey Lewis.

Dave, thanks again for taking another listen.  I hope not to let you down.

Greg, I'm going to take your suggestion.  Thanks for your input.

Jimmy, I hear what you're saying, and I will deal with those issues.  Thanks for your time.

Monty, thanks for your input, and as I stated above, I will deal with this.

John, I appreciate that you listened to several of my songs and your kind words.  I'm always grateful for any inspiration that comes my way.

Warren, you are too kind.  This is very different for me, too, and I am apparently not used to mixing this genre.  Best of luck to you and your new creations.

B36B, it's good to hear from you again.  Hope you're doing well!  Thanks for your response.

Mark, it's always good to hear from you.  Thanks for your kind words.

Now....it's time to get back to work!
