This Instrumental was recorded and mixed in Sonar Platinum and tweaked a bit in Harrison Mixbus. I used S-gear for guitars, Amplitube Ampeg for Bass, Ez Keys, Ezdrummer and Addictive drums. As always I would appreciate your opinions on the mix. I used Pro-Q, Harrison Mixbus Compression and tape sims with LimiterNo.6.

Very nice and tasty playing Clint (my kind of music.....loved it!!). Very, very clean and clear mix (listening on cans the youtube version). To me, the lead guitar could/should be a little more upfront and the bass could be slowered a few dB's to benefit the mix......but, that's just my amatuer opinion which is to be taken with a few grains of salt, lime, & tequila.  Viva Carlos!!

This is very nice with some smooth playing very nice, the production is quite good as well, one minor little thing perhaps some selective EQ in the bottom end to allow all the bottom end elements to be more apparent.

Sounds great, Clint.  This is as tasty as it can get.  I heard a little hiss on the outro, but that's minor.  Kudos!

Thanks guys! I'll check out that hiss for sure. I exported this mix late last night.

Good advice. I need to improve in this area. The combination of Kick, Keys and bass are a bit tricky for a guy with my limited skill set.

Great playing! Really in the pocket. Nice arrangement and tones.
Here's my take on the mix:
1. Bass needs about -4db at 500hz. It is too boomy. If you can analyze with graphic EQ, look for the spikes in this area.
2. Kick is too soft. Boost it about 3db in level. Have you tried side chaining the kick and bass? It would help.

I would just do these two things and then step back and listen.  Good stuff!

Hey... that is sweet.   I could hear CS playing that.  Tasty stuff in there.

I especially LOVED the tone.  It doesn't get any better ...even Carlos himself would be impressed.

Nice.

Thanks! I really like S-gear. I'm tweaking my Atomic Amplifire and I have it very close to S-Gear, but being able to change things after the take, give the edge to S-gear for recording. I also bought an Atomic CLR for my Amplifire...it's going to be a very powerful rig.
