As I've mentioned elsewhere on here I've just updated from 8LE to HS and have now installed SampleTank 3 to handle my ST2 sound libraries. I am struggling to work out how to set it up for multi timbral use though. I used to do this through track properties in 8LE but can't seem to find something equivalent in HS - I've looked at the online help but still not got anywhere! I know this is basic stuff and probably extremely straightforward but if someone can help I'd be very grateful!  I am trying to set up ST3 to contain a Miroslav orchestral patch in each channel and for each channel to be played by midi data on different tracks

You enter the information in what we call the track headers. They are found in two places.
Look closely and you'll s little icons 
I = input   select your midi controller device to record
0= output  select the VST instrument the track will play
C= Channel here is where you'll set up a channel for each track 
B= Bank
P= Patch 

Ah thanks - think I have got it - I hadn't expanded the track information area so didn't see those boxes. I can see the options to set  channel / bank /patch in the channel strip on the left but it is not showing up in the track information area as it does in your screenshot

Spent a few frustrating minutes there not realising that the instrument range shown on ST3 is an octave or two out of alignment with that shown on the PRV in HS! Couldn't understand why there was no sound! All sorted now - thanks again - I may be back with more stupid questions - i wasn't expecting it to be that different to 8LE!  :-)

You'd be amazed how many people didn't even know what all those little boxes are for :) 
One of Sonars deep features is it's crazy layout of detailed buttons and shortcuts, I learn a new one just about everyday! Can you believe I just discovered how to open the Pro Channel effects bin!! Man is that embarrassing or what! Up until last month I had never used anything but the little EQ GUI that shows in the Track Strip! 
I always just inserted effexts in the track bin. Now I'm using the pro channel on everything..duh after at least how many years it's been sitting under my nose!
