Welcome aboard!
This forum is very helpful and also very interesting (debates often evolve into a hopeless mess and a baker has to chime in and lock the thread )

Enjoy!

lol! While it is true that there are interesting debates here, I have found everyone to be very helpful whenever I have asked a question. There are lots of very experienced users who freely share their knowledge.

Welcome to Sonar X2!

Perhaps to make Flerb feel welcome we should make see how many pages his first post can generate.

Here are some important tips to get you started, Flerb...
  • Don't buy any third-party plugins until SampeTank 3 is released, which will be any day now.
  • Always record at 192KHz, to minimize digital fuzz.
  • The most important decision you can make is which dither algorithm to use.
  • Without VST3, SONAR is broken beyond repair. I'm going to Reaper Studio One Cubase Fruity Loops.
  • ARC 2 is a waste of money.
  • If you use a USB microphone, make sure you have a  top-of-the-line SoundBlaster.
  • Any a plugin that doesn't require an iLok can't be any good.
One final tip: all the most important topics are discussed in the Coffee House, where bapu is a consistent source of wisdom - if you can just get him to come out of his shell!

Welcome Flerb! Congratulations on the upgrade! I'm still on X1 Expanded but I'm hoping to upgrade to X2 one of these days... or maybe it'll be X3 by the time I get around to it.

Dave I'm gunna have to disagree on a point you made, Soundblasters are crap-- Realtech are much better... ;}

Welcome to the forum, without it, all is lost and none of us would have made it past the first menu item.

Note what a great response a new member can get when his/her first post isn't an unsubstantiated "Bug" report described with multiple exclaimation points and profanities.

Welcome aboard, Flerb, and thanks for teaching me a new word.
