Is there any way to do a global swing for all tracks?  I'd like to be able to hear the swing effect for the entire song while I'm changing the settings.  I know this is possible in some other DAW's.

Any tips or work arounds on workflow for swing on all tracks?

No, SONAR doesn't provide a global swing feature.

How do users approach this when trying to swing multiple midi tracks all at the same value?

This is one of the areas in which Sonar falls behind some other DAW's in my opinion. It should have some kind of non-destructive quantize settings to apply to a track or tracks, eg a swing knob that you can adjust during playback. There is nothing worse than coming back to a project you haven't worked on for a while, going to add some new drum parts and forgetting what swing value the rest of them are set to.

For non-destructive quantizing and swing, you can add the Quantize MIDI Plug-in to the FX bin of your MIDI tracks.

Now that is something I did not know! To be honest it had slipped my mind that MIDI effects even exist.

It's all in the SONAR X2 Power! book.
