Oh yeah... I'm a happy camper. With the great help here on the forum, I FINALLY figured out how to create a drum map between my DR-880 and Superior Drummer and how to set everything up properly.  Having the ability to listen to these drum tracks from the drum machine with the Superior Drummers drum kits and settings is just AWESOME!  I can bring these stale sounding drum tracks to life!!!

I feel like I kid who was just let loose in the worlds biggest toy store!

Thanks to everyone that helped me make it happen!

Once you're happy with your drum map, SAVE IT - you can then use it inn any other project

And that brings up a new point.
When I opened up a brand new project and looked at that drum map, the map existed but it was 100% blank.  However, if I open up the project that I created the drum map in, it was fully defined as I'd expect.    So, I must not be saving it correctly and not entirely sure how.

Drum maps are stored in the project. To save a Drum map as a preset for future use, name the drum map in "E" below and click the file icon to the right of the name to save it. Illustration from this page.

Ok I went back... The drum map WAS there.  My bad.  I think what threw me off was that I could see the map listed in the top list box "recently used" or the "used in this project" , however even though it was showing up there, I still had to click on the preset drop down list box and select it, once I did that, all the settings showed up.
