A genuine copy of X1 Producer,i.e not already registered,would be a great starting point,as I started with a boxed new version of X1 Studio,and was always wishing I got Producer,which I eventually did,but I ended up spending $199,on a box of X1 Studio that just lays around[?].
Having said that though,X2 Studio maybe better than the X1 was,it's mainly the Pro Channel,and to be honest,now that I have plugin versions of Channel strips[waves studio classics] Studio would be fine.
I think I may be able to relate to your[OP] dilemma of not being in the US,where there are amazing discount stores still with copies of unopened X1 Producer[Guitar Center etc],as in Australia a new boxed copy of X2 Producer can be as much as $6/700!! so maybe Studio,and upgrade ONLINE is the way to go.
