Whoo?

Hoo?

Likey:  most things...kinda...comparatively...sort of...maybe...probably
No Likey:  touch screen thingy

In depth review:  Unfortunately, no.

Reads more like puff piece review in Electronic Musician circa 2000:  Unfortunately, yes.

With regards to the touchscreen no-likey, is it the general theory of touch or the specific implementation or what?

Using a tablet, touch is cool.  On a laptop, I think it is harder to reach up and mess with the screen than just to continue using the mouse and keyboard.

While I have not tried Sonar on a laptop, I would think it would be very hard to get your touch where you wanted it with such a dense layout on a small laptop screen.

A polite review... Quietly kind...

I thought the review was good.  I disagree with the cluttered layout and suggestion for multiple monitors.  I've found X1 and X2 make it a breeze to work with one monitor instead of multiples.  I've ditched my second monitor and haven't missed it at all.

Interesting. CW said they had single monitors in mind when they came up with Skylight and at the same time made X1/X2 better at using dual monitors.

PS... I'm not giving up my second monitor any time soon though!  But I'll also take a free touchscreen if anyone is offering.

In one of our labs we have 2x32" monitors. One is on a traditional stand and the other is where a control surface would go. Then we have the keyboard below that. It's pretty snazzy.

Hey Seth, I have the Planar 27" used in the X2 promo for touch and also have other large monitors I could add to the system, but my issue is which windows to have where (or which screenset to have).  In other words, do you have the console mode permanently on the touchscreen monitor and trackview on the non-touch (assuming you use those two view the most)?

If not, how do you set it up?  I'm very curious.  I love the touch!  Can you say if CW will be expanding touch capabilities at all?

Thanks

I have Dual 27" monitors on three of my computers, Home Office, Electronics Lab, and Music Room (PlayPen). To me, once you work with dual monitors, there is no going back! Personal preferences allowed...
