I just picked up the SR-18 and am wondering whether anyone has put together an instrument definition file for it yet? I'd love a copy (am using Sonar 6 still).

I thought the SR-16 was crap.... didn't even use General MIDI drum setup. I would touch the SR-18. Besides who needs it with Session Drummer 2 and Drum Loops?

Isn't it a "round robin" recording system? The loop length is the count in - you don't need to hit the pads right away, wait until the next start comes around. Isn't it the metronome click you actually miss? It's probably needing turning on in a menu. Long time since I programmed an SR16 (but I still use the sounds sometimes), but if my memory is correct, it worked like that.

Yup, its on the record setup global option, enable click.... I had one delivered last week, not specifically for my studio but for mobile songwriting with my guitar to my Zoom H4N and also for some live work as a duo. Mind you, if any of my song constructs sound good on it, I would consider hooking it up to Sonar as the MTC for recording, although with EZ Drummer and BFD2, I have all the options I need.

I've recently progressed to the SR18 from the SR 16 and I'm as little infuriated at the amount of 16 beat drum patterns (being used to the 8 beat patterns on the SR16). Its also a real learning curve from the SR16 (I bought the 18 to avoid re-learning too much...)
 
I'm using it for live gigs, and therefore want to simply use edited copies of preset patterns with the foot pedals for flexibility.
Now, I know how to change the 16 beat to an 8 beat but I lose the fill in the last 8 beats......
I'm sure that on the SR16 you could change the length and chose which part you wanted, but the manual doesn't tell me how to do this....
Can anyone help please?
