She's definitely got an Elvira Mistress of the Dark look going on.

Dolly's been at it for a long time. She's 70 now, I think. Plays multiple instruments, too. Go to YouTube and search on her performance at Glastonbury 2014. Pretty impressive.

It'd be even more impressive if they did their own arrangments.  Does anyone know if they do?

How do you cover pop songs a capela and not do your own arrangements? Pretty sure there was no beatbox in the 1973 original.

I saw them working with a producer who was feeding them  parts,  so I imagine it's a little of both.  Not sure.  There's nothing wrong with that.  At the level they're working these days...they might not have time to work out parts etc.

you saw them working with a producer feeding them parts?  where?

this was an awesome version!  when Dolly whispers "oh, Jolene" at the end, I got chills!

There's always been a lot more to Dolly than meets the eye.

Interesting tidbit - According to Parton, the song was inspired by a red-headed bank clerk who flirted with her husband Carl Dean at his local bank branch around the time they were newly married. In an interview, she also revealed that Jolene's name and appearance are based on that of a young fan who came on stage for her autograph.

Oh yess! This reminds of the times when they started showing DP-show in Finland a looong time ago.
At the time Dolly wasn't so well known here, or people knew about her but had never bothered to listen to
that "silicone Barbie".
Little by little my friends had to admit that she is a skillfull artist and a very sane person.

Very nice rendition. Dolly still looks great, especially at her age. But I have to say I can't stand that robe-shirt the one guy is wearing. A very odd look/style indeed.
