  • BitBridge and JBridge - Do you need to spend the 20 dollars on JBridge ?

In my case, yes. I have a Windows 7 64-bit PC. For the past seven years or so' I've had both Sonar 32-bit and 64-bit DAW's running on my computer because certain 32-bit VST's were not 64-bit (useable). With BitBridge, included in Sonar X2 Producer, I could load and play my 32-bit VST's in 64-bit Sonar X2, but they could not save properly. Issues like' not remembering the patch I saved in a project, made BitBridge all but useless to me. The biggest problem is that it locks up your computer when you go to save each project with 32-bit plugins inside of a 64-bit project. I stuck a crow-bar in my wallet and purchased JBridge (which is Sonar compliant). Now, I can use my IK Multimedia SampleTron/SampleMoog, Waldorf PPG 3.V and Sonic Projects OB-X Pro II inside 64-bit Sonar X2... with no issues. The only temporary problem I encountered involved making sure I selected the VST with the jbridge' name (in front of the VST name) - not the original name of the VST which was still in my Insert Soft Synths' menu. Lastly, my free VST's created by unknown people around the world... also work properly with JBridge. I have the Ensoniq SQ-80 VST which is free for anybody. Works like a charm now in 64-bit.

Interesting read overall. To bring back some of my VST's from the dead, perhaps I should try JBridge too. I've just had a boycott of my own against it because I feel that BitBridge should do everything I need it to do. After all, it was developed by a reputable company with top-notch software programmers, right?

I may do the same.  I have some Waves and UAudio Plugins that would be nice to bring back.

I have the Focusrite LiquidMix, MTron, and Kitcore, and they were all just about unusable in 64bit before purchasing the jbridge. Now they work like a charm. Jbridge is definitely worth the money, for me anyway.

Another +1 for Jbridge, I’ve been using it for a couple of years now.

Yes another thumbs up for jBridge. Most of my stuff is now 64 bit, except for Drumagog and it works better with jBridge than Bit Bridge. The guys over at Wave Machine Labs have assured us that a 64 bit version of Drumagog for Windows is on the way, it's already been released for MAC as of last week.

If you're running 32Bit plugins that are flaky when bridged via BitBridge, then it's absolutely worth the $20 to purchase jBridge.
Between both bridging options, most all 32Bit plugins will work in Sonar x64.

I just picked it up and got the e-mail...woohoo!  But alas...I'm not home at the moment...so I'll wait a little more.  Hopefully all my 32 bit stuff will play good with that.  That'd be awesome.

Been using it long before I started trying out X2, and jBridge has always been well worth the money, even way back then...

Yeah, I like that Ensoniq SQ-80 VST, too.
I still use my ESQ-1 as a MIDI controller ..after I pulled it apart, cleaned all the contacts and soldered in a battery pack to get it running again.

That SQ-80 brought back fond memories - pretty easy to program, too.
