Unfortunately I needed to do a bit of houskeeping for space on my drive.
I am running Sonar X1 64bit with some 32 bit VST's.
I removed my versions of Sonar 7 and 8.5 (bad idea, big time)
Now I am unable to run the 32 bit VST's.
All sorts of problems as can be imagined. Any ideas on where I can reinstall the bit compatability bridge?
Or if there is better suggestions it would be much appreciated (FYI no restore point on the machine)
Many thanks
Nigel

You can reinstall the plugins without installing the old versions of Sonar. Just click custom install. De select the program files and only select the plugins you want.

Removing 32bit plugins in your 64bit Sonar is not recommended as there are allot of 32bit plugins that use bit bridge so they can be used in Sonar 64bit.

Also, removing plugins will not open enough disk space if your running low on disk space. I suggest you buy another hard drive. There very cheap these days.

I have X1, the very first issue, installed on a HP win/8 laptop. I also have a dell machine win/7 with 8.5 installed on it. It took me a while to get a few 32bit Vsts to work even with jBridge. Recently I had to reinstall windows on the machine w/8.5 on it (win7). I don't know what I did or didn't do to keep having issues with the 32bit Vsts on the 8.5 machine. I never could get X1 to take them even with jBridge. A friend just told me about "Reaper 64bit" software and he never has had any problems using 32bit or 64bit Vsts. Now I'm really at a cross in the road because I read that X2 can use both 32 & 64bit Vsts. Now as if the CW sales staff could sense my delima, I just received an email offer from Cakewalk for X2 Producer for $49.00. I'm a long time Cakewalk user for over 10+yrs and all I want is my 32bit NI B4 II and a couple other Vsts to work. I'm a musician, not really a computer tech kinda guy, can someone please tell me if X2 has this 32/64bit issue under control or would I still have to deal with jBridge.

I can only speak from my own experience, but I've yet to come across a 32 but plugin that will not run in a 64 bit host.

I have a lot of 32bit plugs that won't run in Sonar 64bit (plus, Bitbridge is hit and miss). Spend the $20 and download Jbridge, it is excellent.

after little trial, 32bit VST here run fine on win7/64.
had to put all 32bit VST in Program Files X86 folder first (it's the 32bit program location in 64bit windows).
other VST are in folder : Program Files
Then had to set this folder in Sonar Preferences 'File/Folder Locations' and hit 'scan VST folders'.

Simply said: 32bit in Program Files X86 and add + scan this VST map in Sonar Preferences

Good luck
