Dumb question time which version of the codec pack did you install as there are options of basic, standard, full and also a 64-bit version.

Heya Mate :)

I just have the klite video codecs installed.

Theres *probably* another couple as well but I cant for the life recall what they are!!

In terms of exporting video from Sonar, I NEVER do this as basically Sonar is ghastly at it....So I export the audio, then remarry the sound to video in either Premiere (for high end stuff) or plain old Movie maker (for rough video cuts and smaller files)

The video files I usually get from clients that are imported into Sonar are MOV's...H264 Mpeg Layer 4 decoded by Plana 4:2:0 YUV, frame rate at either 25 fps or 24 fps....Audio at 48k 24 bit. Resolution 1920 x 1080.

 Hope this helps!

Just in case anyone had encountered problems with video in Sonar after installing the klite x64 pack. Once installed I encountered problems in Sonar in that once the video had been added all the controls became sluggish. I managed to fix this by going in the klite control panel and setting .AVI back to Microsoft (recommended) under the 'preferred splitters' tab. Once I had done this the video ran fine and Sonar stopped being sluggish.

Thought I would pass this on.

I just completed 10 hour long shows for a cable series.

What series? I'd like to hear your work.

As of right now i can not say....non-disclosure thingy.  Soon I'll be trying to let everyone and their brother in on it for promo purposes.

Until then here is a somewhat dated Youtube demo.

This is an old thread, but I thought I would post this here (I just posted this in the Sonar X1 / X2 Forum):

I am posting this here as a helpful tip for anyone trying to get HD video to either a) import properly into Sonar 64 bit, or b) play smoothly and in sync once it does import.  There are a great number of crappy free codec "solutions" out there that can do more harm than good.  I am working on a (non-film scoring) project with a company that actually masters consumer Blu-ray content, and they sent me a link to a codec download that totally solved my problems getting HD video to play properly within 64 bit Sonar.  When I was researching how to solve this problem, it seemed like many others out there were having the same issues (unable to import video, horrible playback), so I thought I would share the solution I found here.

To find the specific pack I downloaded, Google "google lav filters 0.58.2" with the word "google" actually in the search window.  That brings you directly to a safe download that does not try to install other software along with the filters.  You can just Google LAV filters and find other versions; all I know is that this version worked perfectly for me.  I am now able to import .mov, .mp4 and avi files that use H264 without any problems.
