Hi,

Sonars' Gui starts to be sluggish if project is getting bigger. I have no problem with audio but editing can be a big pain when graphic update getting slow. Are there any tweaks to enhance Gui Performance?

Windows7 64bit / X2a 64bit
12 GB Ram
i7 870 @2.93 2.93 GHz
ATI Radeon HD 6510 (Latest driver)
Thanks.

You might get better performance if you clear out your picture cache.

Sonar will re-create all the necessary images the next time you open a project.

Yup - I do that frequently.

Performance also depends on your graphics capabilities.

Agreed.
If you have a SSD, you can put the picture cache there.

Yes, I already clear out my picture cache. I think it is time to pay for new video card...

I actually run two monitors out of my on-board graphics, and have no issues.

I used to have 2 high-end graphics cards, but one went bad and I gave the other one to somebody who needed one.

I wouldn't go overboard on shopping for a new graphics card.

Thanks. I'll try my on-board graphic card, hope it works.

I am currently using my on-board graphics to run 2 display monitors, and have zero problems with doing so.

Same here - on board graphics card with two monitors, works well.

Sonar X2 GUI performance tweaks? Well, you might have a look in here:

http://www.cakewalk.com/D...p;Req=INI_Files.6.html

and in here:

http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR%20X2&Lang=EN&Req=AudioPerformance.24.html

and maybe in here too:

http://www.cakewalk.com/Documentation/default.aspx?Doc=SONAR%20X2&Lang=EN&Req=INI_Files.4.html#1133690

Btw, your Radeon HD 6510 is already a decent DX11 card and more than adequate for a Sonar X2 DAW, so a newer gfx card will probably make little if any difference (except perhaps for some newer DX11.1/D2D stuff). As already suggested, using an SSD and assigning your pic cache to it will help (as will setting an appropriate pic cache size in AUD.INI).
