A lot of us have been where you are, including myself. I won't say it gets easier as time passes, but it will get different. Thoughts are with you and yours.

Hey man, I don't know you, and I didn't know your Father, but I just want you to know that I am saddened to hear about your loss.  My Father is still alive, but he is closer to the end than the beginning, and I try my best to make each encounter productive.
Your story is a wake up call for all of us who are still able to have close relationships with our parents...do not take them for granted.

Colin words fail me when it comes to what to say about the loss of your father ...
Stand tall and know that love is far stronger than the grave ...
I lost my mom to cancer in 88 ...the truth is our relationship was troubled ...
I was lucky towards the end of her life because we had the opportunity to have patched things up ....
Even though she is gone , I feel her love more now each and every day ..

Very sorry to hear that, Jonesy, I lost my father in '92 to Alzheimer's and multiple strokes, and my mother in '87 after five months in the hospital with leukemia.
