As ever, I am completely overwhelmed and humbled by the graciousness shown by members of this forum.
 
Words cannot describe how myself & my sister feel at the moment, even though we knew the end was near for him, when it happens, it's like a kick in the guts.
 
I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

I'm sorry for your loss. My dad passed two years ago this week.. but it was time. I still miss him but it was time. He was old and sick, sick and tired. It sounds like your dad was ready to go too.
I'm sorry. I hope you have good memories.

I can relate, man. Both my parents, my sister, my wife and several friends all left before I was ready to let them go. It sucks. The lesson I took away from those experiences is to treasure the people who are still in your life. Now, while you still can.
