Finally lost his 6 month battle with cancer last night.
Poor old sod didn't even recognise me when I went to see him in the afternoon, he was that morphin'ed up to the gills.
Went home intending to come back this morning, got the call at 11pm that he had passed.
Sad day.
You have my deepest sympathy, Jonesey. I lost my Father when I was 8 of cancer too. I last saw him in the hospital as a corpse like person around Christmas time. He was under the care of the VA as a WW 2 vet. They diagnosed him with shingles not lung cancer. Thus no early treatment was given him. I still hold them responsible for it. Being a vet myself I wont go to the VA.
A father is a very special person to their sons and daughters. I know how hard it will be to come to resolution over this. But it will come.
You are one of my favorite people on this forum. Part of that has to be due to your father.
