I just got my BMI statement to discover that more of my bluegrass music was used in a few TV shows.  Reality TV is what they call it.... One of the shows features cues of my tunes in 7 different episodes.

The shows are on the REELZ channel....  Hollywood Hillbillies and Beverly Hills Pawn.  I also saw where I picked up a few reruns of some made for TV documentary shows.... "10 Things you didn't know about....."

Still not doing any island shopping just yet. But this time I can afford to treat my wife to a nice steak dinner with drinks and dessert.

That's awesome Herb! Congratulations man! That's got to be a great feeling to know that your music is being played on TV.

It is.... but here's the ironic part..... I've never heard any of the uses in the shows...in fact I've only seen about 5 minutes of Beverly Hills Pawn.  My wife was flipping through the channels and I saw BHP in the info bar, and yelled.... HOLD IT!!!!   GO BACK....  but that was the previous season, where I had a few placements as well, but didn't know if it was in that particular episode....  my wife resumed flipping over to the home improvement shows.

Thanks Bapu, James,

and Rip....  I've had music in libraries for many years. It took time for the wheels to start turning. I now have a library whose president is pushing my tunes and we're getting placements so maybe this will keep on rolling. It's fun and exciting to see the PRO statement knowing someone chose your music for their show on TV. Just keep at it.

Hi,

Gratz ... don't forget that backwards and different speeds ... is OK.

(Was just reading Andy Partridge's book, and there is a very funny bit. The guy interviewing asked about a song, and thought that this part was a drum ... noooo ... it was a bass guitar tuned down so far and so low, and recorded with effects, to the point that you had no idea what it was for real!) Something like that!
