@Jlien X,
Did you happen to notice Daylaa's computer specs?First of all,Rain PC's are specifically designed for DAW use & he has one with majorly robust power,so it can't be a hardware issue.
You should be made aware as well,that the companies who are truly dedicated to providing 5 star customer service,do in fact,become involved in the forums...which is the case with Presonus and Acoustica(they don't always have solutions)..but then,some companies don't spare their bankroll to hire the most experienced employees.
Well, first, although Rain Computers may be well-known where you are, it is not popular at all here so it didn’t help me a bit. Yet I googled it a little before posting and knew it was a custom built PC but that was all I knew and had no idea how and by whom his PC was sold, that's why I asked him in the post. He could have answered what you explained but he instead chose to apologize, which was nice.
I think if you have an issue and if you want to fix it, you should contact tech support or whoever responsible for support. You can post your issues here but it's not tech support so even if you can't solve the problems you shouldn't bash the product and rant.
As for the demo, I mentioned it because he and many others who claim Sonar doesn't work use the Producer version. If the Essential/Studio version doesn't work as advertised, you have the right to rant (although I don't). Of course, Producer users too can complain if it doesn't work as it’s supposed to, since it's not possible to check everything in 30 days. But the issues he reported in his recent thread (
http://forum.cakewalk.com...m2855381.aspx#2863139) and the claims of many Sonar haters I recently witnessed in other forums (KVR and Studio One) are about basic things like drop outs, latency, which you can check within 30 days.
About Sonar and S1, I think a lot of users don’t realize that these daws are different products and used by different types of users. In short, S1 is a simpler, smoother and more stable daw where Sonar is more feature-packed. Users who don’t need all these features in Sonar might be very happy with S1, but in my case, features like Inline PRV, screensets, and the flexible grouping features, etc. etc. are quite important and also S1 is missing very basic things like the MIDI panic button and the pause button (and….if you visit their FR forum now you can see my humble request for the [X] button to close the current project). So even though Sonar is not as smooth and stable as S1, I’m more and more using X2 these days. It’s just that different users have different needs and Sonar can’t be S1, and S1 can’t be Sonar, either (yet).
Finally, are you saying that CW should provide better services and bakers should chime in their user forums a lot like PreSonus does? Let me tell you my personal experiences. When I started using S1 I sent a few email inquiries, and got no reply at all. I’ve been checking S1 forums quite often and have posted a number of times in the general discussion forum, FR forum, etc. but I personally have never seen them chiming in the threads I engaged in, but that’s maybe because I don’t check all of S1 forums (they have several S1 forums and I suggested combining them into one or two forums, but no response from them). Also, I have never seen them conduct a user survey. I’ve seen bakers chiming in this forum many times and one of them even sent to me a PM when they conducted a survey for Producer users recently and asked for my opinions about X2 Essential that I use (this is because I commented in the survey thread that they should also listen to Studio/Essential users’ opinions). So, to me, PreSonus is much more “silent.”
Anyway, I think this thread is supposed to be a positive one about X2, so I hope there’ll be no more unnecessary criticism or Ryan will chime in and lock the thread once again.
