Hi all,

I have a problem regarding receiving midi events from an VST (EZkeys).

When I try to check 'activate Midi out' with right click on the synth in the synth-rack, nothing happens. It
remains unchecked.

This behavior is for VSTs, which I installed afterwards. For VSTs coming with X1, everything is ok. I can
check the 'activate Midi out' and they are visible in the midi in of the tracks.

Do I have to do a special registration in X1? I checked the VST setup and I didn't see any difference.

Thank you
Michael

What specific VST modules are you having trouble with?

EZ Keys, EZ Drummer, ProteusVX, EVM Bassline, TX16Wx.

RealLPC works.

I believe it is related to the value of the registry entry generateEvents for the plug-in. It must be set to 1 in order for the plug-in to send MIDI data.

I do not know if ProteusVX is supported anymore, nor do I know if it works these days.

The EMU site indicates it as 'End of service life', and it is no longer downloadable from their site.

For EZ Drummer, the support page on their site indicates it is unsupported with BitBridge, and that you must use the 64-bit version.  Is it possible that you have a 32-bit version installed?  If so, it sounds like it will NOT work in a 64-bit Sonar using BitBridge.

EZ Keys has a current version of 1.12 - I do not know if it is 32 or 64 bit.

EVM Bassline is a 32-bit plugin.   I do not know if it works well with BitBridge in 64-bit Sonar.

The TX16Wx has a 64-bit version, so it likely will work OK.

So, try using the 32-bit plugins in a 32-bit Sonar install and see if those work OK.  They may or may  not work in 64-bit.

Nice one, scook, I learn something every day.

A lot of it from you.

It was indeed the missing registry entry 'generateEvents'.

Thanks a lot again.
