Awes
After some assistance with VST automation please. I've read and read and read the relevant section in Sonar X2 Power but still can't figure it out.

I have a repeating guitar part, only a couple of notes every 4 bars. I have used POD Farm 2 on it but got rid of all amps etc, just using a Delay pedal. I'm happy with the delay on all the notes except the last, I want the VST to turn of just before the last time the notes play.

According to Power, I need to do the following:

- right click the VST in the FX bin and select 'Write Enable Parameter'
- select the Now Time
- start playback
- when it gets the he time I want the VST to change, proceed with actions (I then bypass the VST just before the last note)
- stop playback

When I stop playback, everything is the same, except the VST is bypassed for everything until I turn it back on.

Where am I going wrong?

Many thanks in advance

Instead of write enabling, have you tried just adding an automation lane, finding the parameter in question in the drop down menu and simply drawing the automation in?

If you are using the delay or whatever it is as a send (delay is on a separate bus), then on the instrument that you are sending to the delay bus click the W button (for write). have your mouse on the slider, push play, and at the end of the performance where you don't want it to repeat in realtime drag the slider of the send all the way to the left --0. May take a couple of practices to get it just right
