I have had numerous installs of CWx and Sonarx on my PC all at the same time. In fact this is the only time that I have ever had only one version of CW on my pc other than the very first time I bought it way back. And the only reason I did that was because everything I wanted (in 64bit) was already in X2. My plan was to install both 32 and 64bit X2. But I just said let me try it with just 64bit. I never installed the 32bit version. Never found a need.
What will happen is X2 will install in a completely separate folder inside the Cakewalk folder. But it will use your settings from the old install. So if everything was working good, and you had keybindings galore, and other personal settings, then the new install will see all that and apply them to the new version. To me this is the best reason to keep the old install along with the new stuff.
