Anyone have an acceptable sounding pedal or lap steel program? I have a kinda country tune I'm working on that would benefit greatly? Any idea's my X-1,2 brothers?

Speaking as a guitarist and an avid Sonar user, there are a few libraries out there but they really fall short of a real guitarist playing a real pedal steel. Try calling the local music stores or country night clubs or even VFW clubs. Any place that has traditional country music. You may find a guy that is willing to record those tracks for you. I play steel myself and I can tell you, it is probably the hardest string instrument to play. There are all sorts of little nuances in a real track that a sample library will never get for you. BTW, lap steel is not too terribly hard. You can buy one for a good price and try yourself. Pedal steel is a life long study.

BTW, I noticed your using an M-Audio Keystation. I use the 88 Pro and love it. How is yours working out for you? I also use Amplitube 3 but I have been using the Overloud TH2 full version a lot more here lately. I also see you using the Quad-Capture. I just bought 2 of the Studio-Captures and those things rock with a capital R!

The key to getting a lap steel to sound like a pedal steel is all in the volume pedal. Volume pedals are mandatory for anyone trying to get the "crying" sound of laps or pedals. Lap Steels are pretty easy. If you play slide guitar in open tunings you already have the basics down. Just tune the lap to your fave tuning and throw down on the volume pedal and you are good to go.
