I went to add a midi controller to my project and there is no where I can add a Mackie Controller under the selection.  I know it used to be there because I had one installed before.  There is only one option and its Novation Automap Universal for my Novation 61.  I wanted to use AC7 HD because it works great.  Is this something where I may need to reinstall Sonar to get that option again?  Never had this issue.

There's midi devices and control surfaces. Where are you looking?

Right - before you can add a controller in Preferences, MIDI Controller, you must make sure it appears and is checked in the Preferences, MIDI Devices list.  Also, the device would need to be turned on when you start SONAR.

Ok, its a controller on my ipad.  Its a program called AC7 Core HD.  This program worked for awhile and you have to set it up under preferences/control surfaces but today the option wasn't there.  When you add controller/surface the mackie option has always been there but today all of the options disappeared.

Same advice.  I also have a controller app on my iPad (VControl Pro).  In my MIDI Devices under SONAR's Preferences, I see three devices related to this: V-Control, V Pan 1, and V Pan 2.  Yours will be different, but there must be something there to click on the checkbox(es), and then it will show as an option in MIDI Controllers.

Yea on the midi devices it shows AC7 core HD, I selected that for input and output (thats how its set up) then when it asks me for pick a device/controller you are supposed to pick mackie but that option is gone. There used to be like 20 options on the pull down menu but they all disappeared. Very odd.

You might want to check the Saitara Software user forums ~

There were some Sonar-specific issues with AC-7 core in which Sonar-generated files were corrupting and needed to be deleted (& regenerated by Sonar) before AC-7 would continue to work properly.

This might apply to the AC-7 HD version as well (I personally haven't tried it yet).

Here's a discussion about the issue with AC-7 and X1:

You run any registry cleaners?

Yes I do run registry cleaners but never had this issue.  I actually reinstalled Sonar and the options are still not showing up. Very odd.  Its not too big of a deal since I only used the program here and there.  Just wanted to make it work.  I appreciate all of the help guys.
