there was always a confirmation code (a 4 letter/number code)

It's called a 'captcha' and it's a device intended to keep automated bots from posting.

because it prevents automated programs from signing in and leaving automated messages in threads.
Its an anti spam procedure. Most things you sing into on the web have these.

They've resorted to selling "used" kitchens. WTH does that even mean? lol
 
I did however get some quality fake ID via the Cake forums. It's like one stop shopping!

Just set the login to keep you signed in all the time and you won't have to enter it again.

I've been a member here for 6 years or so and it has always been this way, so seeing as you seem to have joined quite recently, not sure why you think it's new ?
